What Is Your System Doing?

Not Cooling

Separate an airflow problem from a cooling problem.

Check the filter, supply airflow, and outdoor unit before assuming the refrigerant charge is wrong.

Begin with power, thermostat demand, and the safety chain.

A no-start often has a simple upstream cause. Do not bypass a switch or open a sealed electrical compartment.

Treat a new burning smell as a stop signal.
